One moment could change your entire life.
Pastor Becky Heinrichs brought a powerful word about how we need to uproot the things in our life that are holding us back from all God has for us – whether that be the “vines” of bitterness, jealousy, unforgiveness, rejection, insecurity, etc. She shared some of her own testimony of how God restored her from a spirit of self-rejection, hatred, and unworthiness. We might feel overwhelmed with all of the things we feel we need to change or address in our lives, but never underestimate the power of uprooting one thing in your life – because that one thing could be the catalyst for change in the other areas of your life, too.

“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:15 (NIV)
Pastor Becky gave some practical ways to help ourselves through this process of uprooting:
- Sit with the Holy Spirit everyday – turn on some worship music and write down the name of a person including what they did and how it made you feel. Then process it with the Lord.
- Repent for any resentment and unforgiveness. Then extend forgiveness.
- Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you until you can pray and bless those who hurt you.
- Write your name down – have you rejected yourself? Are you disgusted with yourself? Forgive yourself because you are worthy to be loved. God has already forgiven you and He loves you just as you are.
“Your secrets will keep you stuck. God can’t heal what you continue to hide, and He can’t bless who you pretend to be.” Pastor Becky Heinrichs

City Girl Conference 2021 was a weekend full of powerhouse speakers, God-encounters, and long-lasting life change.
We learned what it means to be unshakable in our faith, in our health, in our relationships, and in our identity in Christ. Here are some of our favorite sound bites from this weekend:
“We can’t be unraveled by minor things. God will allow things to happen to stretch your capacity so He can trust you with more.” Pastor Becky Heinrichs
“Faith is like a Jenga game because you have to have faith to rebuild again when things come crashing down. What is God calling you to rebuild?” Pastor Emma Davies

“The Holy Spirit doesn’t change who you are – He comes to empower you to be exactly who God created you to be.” Pastor Kelly Nelson

“God is protective over your call. You can have confidence that you can hit the mark because of what Jesus did for you. God will defend you even when you miss the mark.” Pastor Jessie Davis

Remember City Girl, you are set free to live free.
In Christ you are loved beyond measure, you are strong and courageous, and you are called to be a hero of our time. For such a time as this! We are everyday women loving God joyfully, loving people generously, and leading confidently.
