Day 1: God Dreams

By:
Pastor Eli
Nelson

Thank you for joining us as we begin 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting.

I believe that you will encounter God in such a way during these next three weeks that it will alter your course for 2022. Each year, we start out by seeking God for who He is. As we lift our eyes to Him and submit our plans for every area of our lives, we grow closer to Him.

We have a saying at My City Church: “Pray First.”

I believe that as we pray first, we are submitting our plans to the LORD. Not our will, but His will be done. In my life, and in yours. In our families, at our workplaces, at our church, and in this city. These are God Dreams. God's dreams for every area of your life are available to you. You are only one prayer away from seeing and hearing what God has for you this year. So how about we seek Him over the next 21 days and discover what God has for us in 2022?

Let’s take a moment and read what the Bible says about God Dreams:

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Acts 2:17 (NIV)
God has sent His spirit to speak things that are heard in heaven.

I believe God is always speaking to us. The question is- are we listening? In order to listen, you first have to focus. Put away the distractions, the worries, the bad and the good, and trade it for God’s best. As you lay down the distractions, take a moment to lift up your eyes. Lift up your eyes to heaven, from where your help comes from. As you begin to seek God, you will soon find that He is not far from you. And you will begin to hear what heaven is saying. If you set aside your time, pursue God, and ask Him to reveal what is being said in heaven about your life, you will have dreams and visions. You’re on to a good start by finishing today’s devotional. So continue, and watch God show up in your life as you pursue Him. Let’s pray for that.

God, we thank you that you hear us when we pray. So right now God, we pursue you. I thank you that if we seek you, we will find you. That is a promise. And as we seek you, may we see you, may we hear you. Give us visions and give us dreams. Strengthen us. As the world comes against us, day in and day out, I pray that you would give us your Spirit so that we may know that you are greater in us than the world is against us. So we lift our eyes to you LORD. Have your way in us, have your way in 2022. In Jesus' name, Amen.
