Day 11: My City Kids

All of us can relate to the longing to please someone at some point in our lives.

To see the joy of our teacher when we do something good. This scripture clearly shows us that Jesus is pleased when His children are walking in truth!  Having our children raised with the Word of God and led by the Holy Spirit gives us HOPE! It is Joy!  It is confidence and It is what our Lord desires!

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth” 3 John 1:4

All God’s children need to learn about Jesus and need to know that the word of God is their sword!

That it gives them a firm foundation. It is a comfort. That the body of Christ gives them a place of freedom and joy. As a parent, this brings a level of trust and faith that cannot be explained. It’s a deep and profound understanding that no matter the trials, no matter the tribulations, no matter the thorns,  THE rock in which your children stand will not fail them!

Everyone in the church is a key part of this, and as you pray with us today, pray that every child you encounter, the children of our nation, the kids in your neighborhood, nieces and nephews,  and your own children, that God shows you how to show His love through you.

Pray that the children of the next generation will always have a place to worship, a place to learn about the love of God. Pray they will have a  place to call home when the world is going against everything we know as Christians, and a place to know joy like no other. Somewhere to learn the truth and have a lamp for their paths. What greater way to please our Lord- to teach the children about Jesus!

It is our duty as the church to surround our children with the love of Jesus and teach them the truth.  As the ways of the world are set to destroy them, this ONE truth will guide them.

Dueteronomy 6:6-7 says…

6 Make the things I’m commanding you today part of who you are. 7 Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you’re sitting together in your home and when you’re walking together down the road. Make them the last thing you talk about before you go to bed and the first thing you talk about the next morning.

Let’s pray.

Lord I thank you for your word and for every child you put in our path.  That you are giving us the opportunity to teach them. That all scripture is breathed by you Father God and that it is for teaching, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the children of God may be competent and equipped for every good work.    That when we teach them as children, they will not sway from your word when they are older.  I thank you Lord that this is a privilege to show your love to the children and that it delights you when your children are walking in the truth. I pray that the children we encounter come to know your love so deep and a joy so abundantly that they know you personally and come to know that your word is the only path to follow.  That your word will light their way through every trial and tribulation.  We thank you that the strength of our Lord follows them and protects them throughout the days, hours and minutes. Father God, lastly, I thank you that we all can come to you like children, and you embrace us with open arms and a love that knows no bounds.  That we too delight you!  Thank you for your word Lord, that it is everlasting and fulfills all our needs, every day and in every way! Amen
