Day 13: The Global Church

By:
Pastor Jordyn

Right now, the voice of the global church is needed more than ever before.

After a couple years of a global pandemic, global fear, uncertainties, confusion, and chaos - people are in search of hope. But what is hope? Hope carries no doubt. Hope is a confidence that God is in control and is FOR us. Hope is Jesus.

“'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” Jeremiah 29:11

During these times of uncertainty, it’s time for Christians to take charge and be bold. As Christians, we need to have strength. Not strength of our own power, but strength from God living within us. God has gone before us and we will not be shaken (Psalm 16:8).

As millions of people around the world are hurting, confused, and full of fear, it’s the church’s honor and duty to act!

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew‬ ‭5:10-12‬ ‭(NIV)‬‬

As the church, we have a purpose and a mission to stand up for who our amazing God is and to disciple others along a journey to discover hope again. This isn’t easy. It will be challenging - Jesus even assures us in Matthew 5:10 that we will be persecuted for our belief and our life lived for Christ.

“…but take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Jesus has already overcome the world. As Christians, we already know the answer - Jesus. Living a life for God is full of hope, purpose, and strength. We know the way. It is time for the global church to rise up, be bold, and share the hope of Jesus like never before.

The global church isn’t them, the global church is YOU.

Father, thank you for your Word. Thank you for the strength you constantly give us as we follow you and live for you. Continue to go before us, beside us and behind us as we step out boldly to share your word and the hope of Jesus each day. The world needs you. Lord, give us peace as we continue to serve you faithfully - showing others who you are and the everlasting hope you carry. Amen.
