Every Sunday, we have people coming to My City Church for the first time.
Each one of them comes with different past experiences and circumstances. But one thing remains constant: Their curiosity and innate desire for God. And we as God’s people have the incredible opportunity to welcome them into the family of Christ so they can know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, and make a difference.
“Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.” Acts 9:31 (NIV)
Whether you have realized this or not, our church is one of the fastest growing churches in America. Why you might ask? It is because we revere God and the Holy Spirit, and we let Him lead our church and our lives.
We must keep Jesus at the center of everything we say and do. This is the only way the Church will grow and more people will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Despite the current state of our divisive and secular culture, there are still people who are realizing that there has to be more to life than this. The enemy is doing everything he can to keep people in bondage and to keep them from experiencing true community, freedom, joy, and the love of God.
But you can be a part of God’s great plan to restore humanity to Himself by creating disciples who love Him and who spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What greater mission and call is there in this life? What an honor and a privilege it is to be co-laborers with Christ! We get to build the Kingdom of God together. God chose us. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus and bring more children back to the Father.
Let's be the church!
Lord, thank you for My City Church. Thank you that it is a place where people can feel loved and belonging as soon as they walk through our doors. We pray that we will always create an atmosphere where others can belong, believe, and be transformed in your presence. I pray not only for salvations, but for disciples. For our congregation to be a people after your heart, Jesus. No matter what culture says, we will be people of truth, conviction, and love. I pray for people to not be deceived by the rhetoric of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of their minds. May they grow to love you, Jesus, and to put you at the center of their lives always. We pray for consistent members at My City Church to partner with us to bring heaven to earth and to change this city. Lord send revival, and build your church. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
