Day 21: #CityChangers

As we conclude 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, we are not so much ending a season, but launching into 2022.

We have sought God, and will continue to seek God throughout the year. So I want to encourage you to develop good patterns in your life that put God first. Maybe consider going to Men’s Prayer and City Girl Prayer every week? Maybe it is going on a prayer walk, or making fasting a habit of your life? Whatever you feel the Holy Spirit leading you in, continue in it, because this is how God grows your life

God has lit a metaphoric “lamp” inside of you, and wants to continue to grow that light, but also to shine it before all people. And this is how we, as #citychangers, will serve this city. With our lives, who reflect the light that God has given us.

"Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." Matthew 5:15 (NIV)

We have such a beautiful city. A beautiful city with beautiful people. And just like you, God has so much for the people of this city. He has a purpose for the people of this city, but so does the devil. But we know that no eye has seen, nor ear heard, the things that God has in store for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

God has a purpose for the people of this city.

That purpose is going to be revealed through you as you let Jesus shine through you. God wants to use you to change this city. But He will only use you to the level of your availability, not ability, because God qualifies you. He uses your availability, because you have the choice to give up on what God has asked of you.  So I want to encourage you with what Paul said to the church at Corinth:

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

So as we set out to change this city, know that there will be a battle. And that battle is for the souls of Omaha. But we will continue to be available regardless of the difficulty.

And will continue to stand in the gap on behalf of the people of Omaha, believing that God is going to reach this city.

Father God, we thank you for setting us apart for such a time as this. I pray that we will continue to be available for you to use. May we continue to have faith and not grow weary. May we continue to believe, continue to hope, and continue to reach, so that by all means, we might save some. Help us to reach this city. Give us strength and fill us with faith so that one day, we might see your name lifted high over the city of Omaha, and the lost come home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
