If I know God to be anything it is faithful.
Time and time again I have seen God come through in my life, in the lives of the people around me, and in the life of our church. God has never been absent. God has always been there. And when I look back and remember how faithful God has been to us in the past, my faith is ignited for the future. God has not let us down yet, so why would He start now? And when it comes to a building, I feel no different. When I take a moment to stop and look at all of the brilliant volunteers loading in on Sunday morning at 4:30am, when I look at all of the amazing resources our church has, when I look at where we started as a church and where we are now - my faith is ignited for what God holds out in front of us.
“Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord.” Haggai 1:8 (NIV)
As we pray for a permanent location today, do not pray, “God will you” instead pray, “God thank you”.
God has given us everything that we need to reach the city of Omaha and beyond in this season. God has given us what we need to be a life-giving church where people from all walks of life can belong, believe, and be transformed. My question to you today is: How are you stewarding what is currently in your hands?
Because if I know God to be anything it is faithful- especially when we are faithful with what He has already given us.
God, thank you for the blessing and provision that you have already given us. Help us to be faithful stewards of the resources, equipment, and people that you have sent our way. Help us to carry a spirit of gratitude into every season of our lives. Help us to live faith-filled in confession, knowing that the best is yet to come. And thank you in advance for a permanent location in the city of Omaha. Thank you for the favor that we have with businesses and in real estate transactions. Thank you for the generosity of #TEAMMYCITY. We know that this is only the beginning of what you want to do in Omaha. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your mission. Amen.
