Through My City Church’s Men’s ministry, we are called to be leaders in all aspects of life.
Whether it be in our marriages, in our homes, or at our jobs.
We are men of wisdom.
In James 1:5, we are reminded that if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask God and it will be given to him. Solomon was one of the wisest men in the Bible. He prayed to God for wisdom and knowledge and it was given to him. As My City Men, we pray with a fresh boldness and step out in courage declaring, believing, and knowing that God will direct our paths. That God will cast vision on us, and we will be the hands and feet to that vision. That God will give us wisdom as we lead our spouses, our children, and our coworkers.
We are men of Faith.
In Matthew 17:20, Jesus proclaims that if you have faith like that of a mustard seed, you say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there,’ and it will move. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU! As My City Men, we pray with a renewed faith believing that God’s promises spoken over us and prophesied through us remain steadfast and true. We do not put God in a box because we know full well that nothing is impossible for Him. We proclaim with an unwavering faith; declaring over our families, over our lives, and over our situations that the best is yet to come.
We are men of Generosity.
Proverbs 11:25 tells us that a generous person will prosper. Whoever refreshes others will themselves be refreshed. As My City Men, we give generously without expectation. We go above and beyond knowing full well that it will be given pressed down, shaken together, and running over. We not only give of our finances, but we give of our time through serving others.
We are Miracle men.
We are reminded in Mark 10: 27 that with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. As My City Men, we believe that when we lay hands on the sick, they are healed. We believe that when we pray over marriages, restoration begins. We believe that when we declare that addiction, depression, and anxiety has no place; chains begin to fall, walls begin to crumble, and lives are renewed. We believe that our words hold weight. That whatever is spoken in the Name of Jesus will be done (John 14:13).
We are men born to Lead.
1 Corinthians 11:3 says “I want you to understand that Christ is the head (authority over) of every man, and man is the head of woman, and God is the head of Christ.” As My City Men, we believe that the husband is the head of the wife, called to lead, as Christ is the head of the Church. As leaders of our household, we believe and are called to love our wives as Christ loved the church. Ephesians 5 goes a step further saying love your wife like your own body. As My City Men, we are called to lead our children. The bible says train up our children in the way they should go and that when they grow old they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). As My City Men, we are called to lead in the workplace. To work as if we are working for God, not for man (Colossians 3:23).
As My City Men and as a church body, we know that the battle belongs to our God.
We know that He is fighting for us, not against us. As we pray and worship today, I am reminded by the song “War Cry”: “I lift my head in the battle, set my eyes on your face. My war cry is praise! I lift my hands to the heavens, I will call on your name. My war cry is praise!” Let's go to battle together today for the Men of My City Church!
