God is moving in our youth
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV)
This verse makes it very clear that a person’s age does not disqualify them from making an impact on the lives of others. The actions that are described in this verse are how we as humans can preach the Gospel with how we live our lives. When applied, we are able to walk and spread the love, grace, and truth of Jesus. It is no secret that the world wants to muzzle the church, especially through the school systems. According to this scripture, our actions can preach the gospel as well, making just as big of an impact.
This generation needs our prayers
Whether you are in a school on a daily basis or not, this is something that we can all be praying to be in the schools. We can all be believing for God to move through the students that are plugged into the church. We can all help the next generation make an impact in their schools and with their friends by teaching and showing what it means to live out this verse. As disciples of Christ we are called to not just listen to Jesus’ teachings, but to apply them, to put the Word of God to practice in our daily lives, and then teach others to do the same. So whether you are 15 or 50, let's believe for God to move in the youth of My City to make an eternal impact by simply living the life that they are called to live and be who God has called them to be.
Father, we thank you for who you are and that you want to partner with your people. We lift up the youth of My City Church and thank you that your calling has no age requirement. We pray that your favor would go with them into the world and that your light would shine through them, making a lasting impact on the schools of Omaha. We ask that you would remind us to be the example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. Convict us to all live this type of life and to help the next generation walk in all that you have for them. We praise you. We love you and we give you all the honor, glory, and praise. Amen.
