Jesus came to be with you
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10 (ESV)
Have you ever had that feeling of being so lost?
I was 17 years old driving by myself from Kansas City to Lincoln, NE. My cell service was poor and the main interstate was closed because of a flood. I had to take the back highways and backroads. My mom sent me with a big paper map to follow while I was driving…reading while driving is dangerous if you ask me!
Nevertheless, I was trying to get to a place I didn’t know, by myself, with very limited direction. This map in my lap looked complicated but was simple at the same time. It showed a bunch of little roads that lead to one point I was trying to reach, a city called Lincoln, Nebraska. I remember a point in the trip that I had this overwhelming feeling of being so lost! Why couldn’t my phone maps just work and tell me where to turn step by step? I had to read this unknown map and follow the roads to my destination. Thank goodness my mom gave me that map to follow!
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 (ESV)
So many people are lost in this world today; maybe not in their physical location but in their spiritual walk. They are lost, stuck, and searching for a map to show them what path to take next. Salvation is a free gift from God that we don’t deserve but he freely gives us. Jesus came to seek the lost and save the lost. Maybe that’s you, maybe it's a friend or family member of yours. This world is full of lost people searching to be found. We serve a God who loves us so much that He sent his Son to die for us as the ultimate sacrifice, and then invited us to turn to Him, call upon His name, and get the privilege to live a life full of abundance.
When the gift of salvation is accepted in our heart, Christ lives in us. We enter into the transformative journey of living for Christ. What a gift! Thank you Jesus.
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
Father, thank you for your goodness. Thank you for your generosity towards your children. We don’t deserve the love you freely pour out to us each day. Thank you for your faithfulness and your constant pursuit. You created us, you know us, and you love every part of us. We pray for those who feel completely lost - who don’t know which direction to turn. We pray your Holy Spirit moves in their hearts and leads them to turn to you and accept the free gift of salvation you have ready to give them. We pray that when your lost sheep accept salvation in their hearts, radical transformation happens as they pursue living for you and their new purpose in your Kingdom. Thank you for your constant goodness as you love your children so, so much. Amen.
