"Obedience is the action that faith requires."
In today's sermon, Pastor Danny Lee shared a convicting message of how the church can be divided by looking at the story of the Tower of Babel in the Bible:
"Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. 3 They said to each other, 'Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.' They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, 'Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.'" Genesis 11:1-4 (NIV)
We cannot build with a spirit of arrogance.
A God dream is never about making a name for yourself. It's only about lifting up the name of Jesus. God doesn't mind us attempting the impossible. He just doesn't want us attempting it without Him.
"'Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.' So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city." Genesis 11:7-8 (NIV)

We cannot build out of a spirit of disobedience.
Our job is obedience and God's job is the outcome. The cycle tends to go from Man's disobedience -> God's punishment -> Man's repentance -> and back to the beginning. If we do build in arrogance and disobedience, then God will stand opposed to it.
"The easiest way to create division is through a lack of communication. For community to survive, communication must thrive." ~ Pastor Danny Lee

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
If we can't control our conversations, that means we don't guard our hearts. We have to always be Faith-Filled in Confession:
We look into the future with great expectation. We honor the past, but are most loyal to our future. Our language is full of faith knowing that the best is yet to come!
