Down, But Not Out | 2022 VISION

It's time to take a stand.

It is important to remember that God has promises for your life, and Pastor Eli shared 11 of 6,000+ promises given to us in His Word.

  • Promise to strengthen you (Eph 3:14-16, Psalm 28:7)
  • Promise to give you rest (Matt 11:28-30, Psalm 4:8)
  • Promise to care for your needs (Phil. 4:19)
  • Promise to work all things out for good (Romans 8:28)
  • Promise to protect you (Psalm 91:2)
  • Promise to have freedom from sin (1 John 1:9)
  • Promise to never be separated from God (Romans 8:38-39)
  • Promise of everlasting life (John 3:16)
  • Promise to build His church (Matthew 16:18b)
  • Promise of hope in this world (John 16:33)
  • Promise to not live fearful (Psalm 91:5)
"In Christ, His promises are "yes," but are they "amen" in us? ~ Pastor Eli Nelson

God still speaks His promises today

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

It is up to us to set our hearts in how we receive God’s promises over our lives. A great way for us to do that is to speak those promises into fruition. Because when we question our worth according to God’s promises, the Devil will work to resist the promises of God. Nothing God gives us will go uncontested by the Devil. When we start to discover our identity in Christ, the Devil will challenge us. Don’t be surprised when hard things come up as we walk with God.

So how do you handle the punches from the Devil? Do you fold? Does fear paralyze you? Or do we quote scripture, remembering that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Remember we are called to be different. Men and women of prayer and faith - the salt and light of the world. Don't let the the things of the world get in you. Don't let the world destroy your faith.

"Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines banded together at a place where there was a field full of lentils, Israel’s troops fled from them. But Shammah took his stand in the middle of the field. He defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the Lord brought about a great victory." 2 Samuel 23:11-12 (NIV) [emphasis added]

When the people of God stand on the promises of God, God brings great victory to us. God sends his strongest through the toughest battles, and we are called to STAND.

We are called to stand in the gap.

Stand for this city, our families, friends, church, our state, nation, and our world.

"Quit trying to save yourself and start standing on His promises." ~ Pastor Eli Nelson
