He Hears the Cry of the Broken

"Do you wholeheartedly trust me?"

Today we had a guest speaker and friend of Pastor Eli Nelson, Pastor Terry Brown. Pastor Terry shared a quick story of where God has brought him and his wife, Cindy, in the past year. The Lord brought him and Cindy to the Lake of the Ozarks to pray. God asked him a very important question: "Do you wholeheartedly trust me?” He didn't answer at first because he knew that God was asking something of him. But then Pastor Terry replied by writing in the snow: “I WILL TRUST YOU." This was his new covenant response to the Lord. God was asking him to leave his current job expeditiously and to trust that God would provide.

Grace always wins

You must know that Jesus Christ is not a condemner of you. Just as Jesus said to the women caught in adultery in John 8:3-11, "Leave this life of sin and go." God always sets us free and tells us to GO! That's an action. Once you've dealt with sin, move forward. Advance. God is always on the move. That's the Kingdom of God! There is no doubt that moving can mean making a sacrifice or be a lot of hard work, but when God says to move, you move!

We need each other

" 'Sir,' the invalid replied, 'I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.' 8 Then Jesus said to him, 'Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.' 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,10 and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, 'It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.' 11 But he replied, 'The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ” John 5:7-11

Sometimes when there is no one in the Church to help us, that’s when God comes down to help us just like the invalid man. The Law comes and says, "Why did you pick your mat?!" Grace comes and says, "You are healed, pick up your mat and walk." God is asking you to walk into your destiny and your calling. Let go of your past and advance into what God has for you. He gives you a future! Jesus Christ helps you walk into your destiny.

Grace delivers a knockout punch to the law

In the story about the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48, there are people surrounding Jesus pressing up against Him and touching Him. But out of all the people there touching Him, it was the woman who had a desperate FAITH who got healed. Jesus even responded saying that power had gone out from Him when she touched Him. The woman falling at his feet told Him her problem and how as she touched Him, she was instantly healed. Jesus then said to her “Daughter, your faith has healed you. GO! In peace!” Why did Jesus stop?...

"Why did Jesus stop for that woman? Because The Kingdom of God responds to FAITH!" ~ Pastor Terry Brown

Jesus Christ is the resurrector

Maybe today you feel like you’re covered in dead man’s clothes, but Jesus is saying to you today… "Come forth! Come Forth!" He's able to bring dead bones to life! Just like He did for Lazarus (John 11), even when you are wrapped in grave clothes, He is calling you out of that grave. He is your rear guard and God will light your path.

"So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, 'Father, I thank you that you have heard me.42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.' 43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, 'Lazarus, come out.' 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, 'Unbind him, and let him go.'” John 11:41-44

Pastor Terry Brown told a story about this family that waited 14 years to have a baby. When they finally did birth a child, the baby named Isaac was born 11 weeks early and was in the NICU for weeks. Ps. Terry and his wife prayed everyday for the Lord to give Isaac life and after 6 months, little Isaac was healed! They were praying life into Isaac. The Lord says, “Call me in your times of trouble!” the scriptures further say, “He hears the cry of the broken.”

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

When you trust in Jesus, He will do miraculous things. Sometimes we think that God has forgotten about us. But God never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is a provider. The Kingdom of has not abandoned you. Jesus loves you and cares about you! His ear is bent towards your prayers.

"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12

Sometimes we need to PRESS and PASS through the crowd to get to Jesus. Just like the paralyzed man's friends, sometimes we need friends to help us get closer to Jesus. The roof represented an obstacle. Maybe it's time for you to tear open some roofs so you can get closer to Jesus. Maybe we failed in some areas in life. But Jesus is there to give us grace and forgive us. Maybe you are like the woman chasing for healing. God will heal you.

"Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'" Mark 2:3-5

Jesus Christ is still the answer for our people. Jesus Christ is a chain breaker. He is the calmer of the storms of your life. In Him is the rest that you need. Jesus Christ is neither a Democratic Kingdom nor a Republican Kingdom, but the King of the Heavenly Kingdom, THE Kingdom! He is a FATHER to the fatherless. He is not on TikTok, not on Facebook, not on Snapchat; He is on the WORD (Bible), because He is the WORD. That’s our King! He leaves the 99 and goes for the one that went astray.

That’s our King!
