An invitation to initiation.
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
This week, Pastor Eli kicked off week one of our new series, If My People, with a message titled "#becomewhatyoubelieve."
He talked about maximizing your God-given potential through taking initiative in life, and how whether you believe you can or you can't, you're right.
One of the most powerful roadblocks to taking initiative in the things that God is calling you into is that familiar voice of comparison. We all feel it as we scroll through social media or romanticize the lives of the people around us.
But if I keep comparing myself to the people I see, I will never see what God sees in me.
“The people that change the world will be the people that the world cannot change.” -Pastor Eli
What is that thing in your life that God has called you to start? What is holding you back? It may be comparison, fear of failure, or past mistakes. But just remember that you are not responsible for the result, you are only responsible for the obedience.
So take “If My People” as an invitation to initiation, and just jump into the thing that God is calling you to.
Listen here for the whole sermon, and be challenged to take a leap in your life!
