He can do it, He will do it, and He will do it again!
10 Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord. 11 And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.” 1 Samuel 1:10-11
For our Mother’s Day service, our incredible women pastors, Kelly Nelson, Rachael Stackhouse and Natalie Wallace, delivered us a message out of 1 Samuel. We heard about an amazing mother from the bible, Hannah, and the process that God took her through.
Hannah was barren for many years until she prayed and promised God that she would dedicate her son to Him. God was faithful, and we got to see Hannah’s faithfulness in return:
- She was faithful through the struggle
- She was faithful in the process.
- She was faithful in her response.
How often do we pray and ask God to bless us, yet when He does, we then try to keep everything for ourselves and give nothing back to Him? How often do we struggle to trust the process entirely? Our pastors help us navigate these difficult questions.
“Lay your desires at His feet, worship Him through the process, and watch Him do what only He can do.” - Pastor Rachael Stackhouse
