How do we respond as the Church?

In light of the recent overturn of Roe v. Wade in the Supreme Court in our country, Pastor Eli Nelson felt led by the Holy Spirit not only to address our church in what the Word of God says about life and the unborn, but to also remind us that all of our beliefs are founded on the Word of God. Nothing else.

"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NIV)

Who or what is programming your mind?

Is it popular belief or the Word of God? No one thinks they are in the wrong. If you can never understand where someone is coming from, then you can never properly inform, because you do not fully know the lies they have bought into. To follow God, we do not follow man. God makes the rules - not the government, the media, or culture. You must ask yourself these questions: "Why do I believe what I believe? Do I really believe it? Or is it because someone else I know believes it?"

"We may think we read the Bible, but really the Bible reads us. We have to let the Bible shape our worldview." ~ Pastor Eli Nelson

God made man in His own image.

There are numerous scriptures in the New Testament that use the Greek word "brephos" which means "baby" to reference both a child inside and outside of the womb. (Luke 1:41-42, Luke 2:12, Luke 18:15, and Acts 7:9). This shows that God values all human life - including those in the womb.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

We have the choice to align ourselves with the Word of God, or with what culture says. Our desire as Christians is not to be on the right side of history, but on the right side of eternity. You have to make a choice: Are you here to serve God, or to serve man?

My City Church Believes:
  1. The unborn are still human because the Bible and science affirms this.
  2. Abortion is murder. Period.
  3. We will continue to fund organizations that support families, women, and children.
  4. Fathers should be held personally and financially accountable to take care of the children they created.
  5. The responsibility of the Christian is to be a Christian no matter where we go. We must vote for people who will enact Godly values that align with Heaven.
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14 (NIV)
