“There is nothing worth living for unless it is also worth dying for” Elisabeth Elliot
This week, Pastor Aeric Wallace shared the story of five Christian missionaries who sought out an isolated tribe, The Waorani, and were martyred by them.
However, we learned the word, “martyr,” is not all that we thought it was; it’s only meaning is not to simply be killed for your beliefs. In the original Greek, it actually means “witness.”
To live as a martyr is to live having seen the goodness of God in your life.
So the question to you: Are you ready to witness all that God has done, is doing, and will continue to do? Are you going to witness all that you’ve seen to people?
You may have questions, doubts, and fears about where God is leading you and that is okay. Why? Because there is a confidence that you have access to - knowing that what lies ahead of you is actually safer than the comfort of the past- even if it is unknown.
“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.” Luke 9:24
