Alright, I know what you came here for. Heart-shaped pizza. Because there’s truly no better Valentine’s Day date than heart-shaped pizza on the couch, right? Only me?
Ohhh, you’re fancy? Ok, we’ll have some recommendations for the finer things, too, so that you and your significant other or maybe you and your #galentines can have a great holiday celebrating love and friendship.
Omaha, Nebraska is known for a lot of things – our zoo, affordable cost-of-living, best place to raise a family, but we also have a ton of great local restaurants all over the city. Here’s our recs for the best Valentine’s Day date spots in Omaha:

AU COURANT – $$$
Au Courant is a regional kitchen in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha that offers approachable “New European” influenced dishes with a focus on regional ingredients in a friendly atmosphere. COVID restrictions have them open for Tasting Menu only, but trust me, it’s totally worth it. Try their Oysters as a starter and the Beat Me To The Punch cocktail for a drink! Want to extend the night a little longer? For our 21+ friends, about a block down the street is Benson’s Beercade – an adults-only arcade packed full of all your favorite arcade games. Challenge your date to a game of skee-ball, then enjoy a Guinness at the bar.
MULA – $$
Mula is a Mexican Kitchen in the heart of the Blackstone District in Omaha. They offer street-style tacos with quality ingredients that are locally sourced. They also have the best margarita in Omaha. Psst – try a half Jalapeño/half Cucumber marg and don’t skip on the Queso or Bacon & Street Corn Guac! We love Mula for a low pressure, fun date night with your significant other or group of gals.
YOSHITOMO – $$

A lot of outsiders may be shocked to find out that land-locked Omaha has some of the best sushi in the nation. Yoshitomo tops the charts here, folks! Up for a James Beard Award last year, this Benson spot transforms you out of Omaha and into a neighborhood sushi restaurant in Japan. In a non-COVID world, sit at the Sushi Bar and watch the chefs make every roll, nigiri, and plate from scratch. Every bite here is to die for. Try the Aburi Wagyu Nigiri for a melt-in-your-mouth-bite that will leave you craving it on the regular.
CHARRED BURGER + BAR – $
Looking for a cheaper, more casual, west-er Omaha option? Charred has REALLY good burgers – made with locally sourced wagyu beef. *chef’s kiss* We love this for an affordable date night. Try any of their lemonades to transfer you out of snOmaha and right into the summer sun.
VALENTINO’S HEART-SHAPED PIZZA + A MOVIE – $

I couldn’t put together a top list of dates without highlighting my favorite Valentine’s Day tradition. My mom started this with my sisters and me growing up, and I can’t wait to one day pass it along to my kids. For now, my husband celebrates Valentine’s Day with our casual tradition – that is extremely COVID-friendly, I might add.
Here’s how to really do it up right:
1. Order yourself a Valentino’s Heart-Shaped Pizza, and don’t miss out on an order of the cinnamon breadsticks for dessert.
2. Get that delicious, piping hot pizza delivered straight to your house.
3. Pop open a Diet Coke or your favorite bottle of wine.
4. Turn on your favorite rom-com. Might I suggest: The Notebook, or Netflix Originals, Set It Up or Always Be My Maybe.
5. Kick back, relax, and put this on your list of traditions for years to come.
